Tooth whitening is one of the simplest and most cost-effective ways of improving the look of your teeth and making your smile stand head and shoulders above the rest. Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought to yourself, "if only my teeth were whiter". We can help by offering you 1 hour Britesmile tooth whitening for the fantastic price of £275. Get ready for Christmas 2009 with the brightest smile around! At Medenta we use the tried and tested Britesmile method of teeth whitening. There are other systems of tooth whitening but the Britesmile procedure has been demonstrated to be the most benign with a minimum of post-operative sensitivity, as compared to other to other teeth whitening systems, such as Zoom, for example. Teeth whitening works by application of a mild bleach-containing gel to the tooth surface over a one hour period. The effect of the tooth whitening gel is enhanced by application of a patented blue light system for a one hour period, while you lie back and relax. The whitening process works by bleaching the organic component of tooth enamel without causing any damage to or degradation of the enamel surface. The Britesmile teeth whitening system works by removing staining that naturally accumulates over the life of the teeth and can lighten your tooth colour by up to 12 shades in 1 hour. The Britesmile tooth whitening procedure is very simple. When you first call to enquire about whitening your teeth, we ask several questions to establish your overall suitability for teeth whitening. 1. Have you ever had any form of tooth whitening before, either by prescription take -home whitening trays from your dentist or any teeth whitening procedure performed in the dentist's chair? From this we can tell how much whitening of your teeth we can achieve and the amount of any sensitivity that can be expected from the Britesmile procedure and your tolerance to teeth whitening in general. 2. Do you have sensitive teeth? For example, when you have a cold drink does it cause you pain or when outside in cold weather and you breathe in through your mouth does it hurt. Very few people have genuinely sensitive teeth. Tooth sensitivity is usually caused by minor abrasion cavities at the gum margin caused by overzealous use of a normal toothbrush. In all cases the gums and necks of sensitive teeth are coated with a barrier material so that none of the tooth whitening gel comes into direct contact with the affected part of the tooth. This reduces the susceptibility of those teeth to irritation during the Britesmile whitening procedure. 3. Have you seen your dentist in the last 4 to 6 weeks? If you have and have had any remedial treatment carried out, including a scale and polish, then a simple examination before carrying out your teeth whitening should suffice. If not we can assess your teeth and gums before carrying out the tooth whitening procedure and if necessary out a simple scale and polish to remove any tartar and extrinsic staining. Following the whitening treatment, some people experience tooth sensitivity in individual teeth, what we call "zingers", for the first 24 hours. In most cases a mild inflammatory, like Ibuprofen sufficient to remedy this. It is also advisable to avoid excessively hot or cold drinks for the first 24 hours, especially if any tooth sensitivity is experienced. So if you would like to undergo the Britesmile tooth whitening procedure or just like to know more, give us a call on 0207 223 22444 or visit www.britesmile.co.uk We'd be happy to help you achieve the smile you've always wanted. |
